WHAT is the 2008 GPL World Cup?
2008 Grand Prix Legends World Cup is a virtual Formula 1 championship for nations using the 'Grand Prix Legends' PC racing simulator.
The championship will be run with the original 1967 cars and have 32 teams of 4 drivers with unlimited number of substitutions. Smaller nations from the same region can form combined teams.
Rounds will be arranged according to a seeding system based on average GPLRank for the first round and to previous finishing position for the remaining rounds. 4 teams will therefore meet 4 times for a total of 16 drivers in each race of every stage of the tournament. For every round, all 7 car types must be used minimum1 and maximum 4 times.
The top 2 teams from each round will advance to the next leading up to the final based on a points table. A weighted points system will be used and a bonus point given to the fastest race lap.
Dedicated servers with starters will be available on VROC or iGOR for all races with a 30-minute qualifying session held immediately before the race. Each team will select a home track for every round of the event.
